In the rule “Style”, change

Tempo. Values: Allegro, Moderato, Adagio. If a change of Tempo occurs resulting in three consecutive Musicians playing at the same Tempo, the middle one’s Harmony becomes Consonant. If a change of Tempo occurs resulting in three consecutive Musicians playing at three different Tempos, the middle one’s Harmony becomes Dissonant. Any Musician with Dissonant Harmony may often change eir Tempo. A Musician whose Harmony is Consonant may occasionally change the Tempo of any other Musician.

A Musician whose Harmony is Consonant may occasionally change the Tempo of any other Musician, unless another musician playing the same instrument also has Consonant Harmony, in which case they may change another musician’s Tempo often. If two musicians with different Harmonies are playing the same instrument, the musician with Dissonant Harmony may often change the Tempo of the other musician, and may occasionally change the Tempo of any other musician.

Where is all this going?

If two musicians are playing the same instrument and both have consonant harmony, they may change other musician’s tempos often instead of occasionally. If one has consonant harmony and the other has dissonant, the one with dissonant harmony can change other player’s tempos as though they were playing consonant and can change the other musician playing the same instrument’s tempo often. If both have dissonant harmony, neither may change their own tempos.

I’m against cluttering up a single Style value; I think it’s better if they’re independently easy to understand, but with complex interconnections.

But I like this being in conjunction with Instruments, so I would vote FOR this if it instead applied to a new Style column.
