Proposal: Protection

Exceeded Quorum, 4-0 with 2 DEFs and Battle Master voting FOR. Enacted by JonathanDark.

In the rule “Spells” add a subrule named “Magical Armor” with the following description:

Effect: If the Wizard that cast this spell didn’t previously during Wizard Duel X-1 or Wizard Duel X-2(X being the current duel number), then that Wizard is not effected by any spells casted during Wizard Duel X. However, if another Wizard were to cast Snipe and successfully named the Wizard that casted Magic Armor, the spell is considered casted for the condition in the first sentence of this effect but the Wizard who casted Magic Armor will not gain the effects of the Magic Armor.

I’m not sure I follow. Does a Wizard have to cast Magical Armor, and then cast it again in the next or next-next Duel for this to work?

There’s some grammar issues with your Proposal that depend on your answer for how you intended this to work.

Whoops it’s a typo

This is how I’m interpreting it, is this what you intended?

> If the Wizard casting this spell did not cast it in either of the two previous duels, they are not affected by any other spells cast in the current duel.

i.e. it gives you immunity in the current duel, but there’s a two-duel cooldown period after you use it.

Currently conflicts with Snipe. Unclear what happens if someone snipes this spell. Does this spell protect you from snipe or does snipe prevent this spell from having any effect?

Zack’s interpretation is what I’m going for

“the Wizard who casted Magic Armor with not gain the effects”

I think you meant “will” instead of “with”

Spells mentioning other spells by name doesn’t really work as a long term solution. It adds a lot of complexity. Should try to sort things out with spell speed instead (assuming JonathanDark’s proposal passes)

Wouldn’t that leave a conflict between spite and this?

as long as you set the speeds right it shouldn’t be a problem

imperial Good idea, I do think that speed works better as a solution for the snipe interaction

for Cooldown is a good idea, we should make it a general mechanic.
