Proposal: Punishment for Losing

Reached quorum 10 votes to 0. Enacted by Kevan. First clause has no effect since the phrase “Afterwards, the Ball is removed from the Scoring Player” does not exist in the ruleset (it’s “Shooting”).

If “Afterwards, the Ball is removed from the Scoring Player” is a phrase in rule 2.10 “The Method of Scoring,” add a phrase after it that reads

and the Scoring post is considered closed.

To the first paragraph of the rule “The Players’ Equipment”, add:

If the Ball is Out of Play and has not come into Play since a Scoring post has been closed, any Player may trade Shirt numbers with any other Player that has not Scored due to the most recent Scoring post.

A variant on Kevan’s proposal.

Note that this post broke the blog for twelve hours (so it and the other proposal have twelve more hours from now before timing out).

Trial and error narrowed it down to an apostrophe in the title field of a link, which I’ve documented in the admin manual. I don’t know if it was the same problem last time, because the post was deleted and RaichuKFM’s repost appeared to be using a different flavour text - perhaps the original included a title apostrophe.

Ah, the flavor text in the one I removed had a link, so that probably could have been it. But I only closed the post, not deleted it, so there’s some way to find it again I’m fairly certain.

nomic^3 has carried the ball for more than 72 hours (For those who don’t know, this can be checked by comparing the timestamp of the GNDT action that denoted the transfer of the ball to the player in question to the current time to see if 72 hours have passed.)

I think we should have a short time out period between scoring and putting the ball back in play, to give players more of a chance to switch shirts if they want.  But for .
