I think Nigel Cartlesham gets a Y for being the Food Court the entire last turn with 2 Food items, per the “Let’s Eat” stamp subrule.

I’m not sure about the timing on that. I had read “When a Visitor remains in the Food Court for one full Turn… on the next Advance the Queues” as requiring one full turn (which Nigel did starting on the ninth Advancing and ending on the tenth) and then awarding the stamp during another instance of Advancing the Queues afterwards.

It doesn’t say when it happens relative to the listed Steps, either, which should be fixed.

The simple solution is to make the Food Court a Gated Queue, and move the consumption and Stamping into its Front Effect.

Ah, I guess I didn’t understand the phrase “A Turn is a period between two instances of Advancing the Queues”. In my mind, the full Turn ended at the _start_ of Advancing the Queues, whereas you see the Turn ending at the _end_ of Advancing the Queues.

Now that I understand your interpretation, I’ll propose the appropriate rule adjustment. Is there any difficulty with the Food Court Line being a Queue and feeding into the Food Court which would also be a Queue, albeit a Gated Queue? It hasn’t been done yet, but so far I don’t see a real problem. I just wanted to take the temperature of the group and see if there are any downsides to it.

I suggested the Gated Queue solution in the post before yours. The one caveat with the Gated Queue solution is that it should admit more visitors than the line to clear out the backlog that will have formed.

Sorry, I didn’t mean to suggested that my post on the Gated Queue was the first. I was intentionally referencing your idea, though unfortunately not as clearly as I should have. My apologies.

I agree that the Gated Queue should clear out any backlog. The Food Court need not be a logjam (mmm, jam).

This is explicit in the Turns rule: “Things that happen as part of an instance of Advancing the Queues are considered to have happened during the preceding Turn.”
