Proposal: Refinements

Change the down effect of Mudling princess from:

move an attached person from one community to a mudling community

To:

move one attached monster from any community to a mudling community

Change the name of “Redland Settlers” to “Redlander Settlers”

Change the up effect of “Ice Elemental” from:

For each tamer, exactly one monster will have no effect on the community

To:

unattach a random monster other than this card from this card’s community

Change the down effect of “Ice Elemental” from:

Other Monsters will have no effect so long as this person is attached to the community.

To

Other Monsters attached to this monster’s community do not apply their effects during dealing, and their effects are not considered rules-text

change the up effect of “Fire Elemental” from:

unattach a monster from a community

to:

unattach a random monster other than this card from this card’s community

 

This is correcting mistakes. I particularly deplore the nerfed state of the mudling princess, which is one of my favorite cards.

Good fixes, although “no effect” could still use clarifying. Does it just deny Rating changes, or does it switch off monsters entirely?

And for “exactly one monster will have no effect”, how do we know which monster isn’t having the effect?

I’ve been considering how to fix it, and I came up empty. By default I’d read it as the first monster alphabetically does not have its rule text apply, and its effect does not trigger on a draw.

Any suggestions? right now the down effect is better anyways, but the up effect has potential for better targeting of enemy monsters. Or we could change it entirely to something like “Remove one other monster from this community”. That looks a good deal like the fire elemental, but that’s not inappropriate either.

Maybe “The effects of other Monsters attached to the same Community as Ice Elemental are not applied when drawing.” for the down effect?

Having the Up effect become identical to the Fire Elemental would be fine, I think - an identical effect with different graphics and keywords seems common for these kinds of monsters in videogames.

Ok, its updated to remove random monsters and to specify what is meant by “Having no effect”. I also updated fire elemental to match the up effect, and randomized the monster removed.
