Proposal: Rock the Vote

Self-killed, trivial. Josh

Adminned at 11 Oct 2009 05:13:12 UTC

In the course of this whole “is a Vote necessarily a Comment” kerfuffle, I’ve noticed that our core Ruleset only expressly defines the _noun_ “Vote”, but the word “vote” is used in the Ruleset as a noun in some places, and as a verb in others.

All I’m sayin’ is I’m just sayin’.

Well, the issue arises that, up until proxies, one could not VOTE without first making a comment.  With proxies we now have to establish what it means to vote.  Hasn’t been defined before because it wasn’t needed.

against Why is this a proposal anyway?

We’ve traditionally resisted the urge to define every term BlogNomic uses. It seems to me that anything that deviates too far from a common-sense approach to rulesets is sufficiently vulnerable to a CfJ as to be not worth legislating against.

Wasn’t intended to be a proposal.  I flagged it as category “Null” which, I didn’t realize, still makes it a proposal.  (Bug or feature?)

To respond to Amnistar, strictly speaking, the ruleset defines what it means to “cast a Vote”, but it does not expressly define what it means to “vote”.

spike: null is a subcategory of proposal.  was intended for something-or-other, so feature, not bug.
