Basically because the only legal pairs for Rumours are Purplebeard+ayesdeeef and Purplebeard+Tantusar, and meanwhile, Purplebeard is defecting continuously in an attempt to avoid the fallout while punishing idle players.

Ayesdeeef+Tantusar would also be legal. You got picked for this one because you appear to be collaborating with Purplebeard (taking a Fall for 17 SHIV for no obvious reason overnight), whereas Tantusar seems to be largely ignoring dynastic gameplay and will probably be Attacked again shortly.

I suppose it’s probably frustrating that you can’t change your Attitude away from Withdrawn when you’re being targetted for rolling Rumours. But we’re playing Nomic - if you don’t like the rules, change them!
