Enact a new subrule of “The Chambers” called “Crash Site”:

An Infected at the Crash Site may activate the genetic backup system in the ship’s still-functioning medical bay: upon doing so, that Infected’s Mutation, Size, Brain and Limbs are set to zero, 4, 4 and 4 respectively.

Occupants:

I suspect all dynasties either need adjustable starting stats or a reset button; suggesting the latter. This might make us less cagey about mutating.
