Proposal: Say that to my muscles

Adminned at 23 May 2009 13:31:56 UTC

Create a new rule “Exercise Regime”:

Each Contestant has a numerical statistic called “Looks”, tracked by the GNDT, which determines the relative attractiveness of the Contestant in regards to other Contestants. New Contestants and Unidling Contestants with no Looks shall set their Looks to 5.

As a daily action, a Contestant in the Gym may exercise by making a comment in the GNDT of “Exercising” and a roll of DICE7. If the result of the roll is equal to or smaller than the number of times the Contestant has exercised in the past 7 days, their Looks are increased by 1.

Whenever two or more Contestants have their Fame increased at the same time, if exactly one of those Contestants has more Looks than each other of those Contestants, the Contestant who has the highest Looks amongst them increases their Fame by an additional 1.

Set the Looks of each Contestant to 5.

If at least half of the counted votes on this proposal included the text “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder”, after this proposal becomes enacted each Contestant has a 72 hour period to make a single roll of DICE3 on the GNDT and add the result to their Looks.

Timed out. Passes 10-6. Enacted by Clucky.

While to some this may look like a grind, please note it doesn’t guarantee a better character. Some players may want to include exercise in their strategy, while others may resort to manipulation, or other tactics. In short: it’s optional non-required grinding (much like exercise is).

Just noticed that “the Contestant who has the highest Looks amongst them increases their Fame by an additional 1” is horribly ambiguous.  Doesn’t change my vote, though.

imperial I’m not entirely sure where this is going, but I guess Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and believe me, beholders have many eyes.

The fact that it requires being in a particular room does add some strategy to this; it would be more interesting if you had to stay in the gym for several hours, or something, though.

I count 10 “Beauties,” including Flu’s Def and Bucky’s Against vote, which nonetheless contains the entire necessary text within his comment.

Inserting extra words (Bucky’s “not”) shouldn’t count, otherwise we’d be counting any comment which included all the individual letters.

against Sorry, I just really don’t want to have to grind. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Another thing I’ve noticed here; going to the gym every day is probably a bad idea, because even unsuccessful exercise attempts reduce the chance of subsequent attempts working. This is a decent proposal, nevertheless against because I don’t like grind-like things, but I won’t veto.
