Remove the bullet “There must be no more than three Searches that are Open” from the rule “Searches”.
This makes less sense now that searches each have a location in space, and is blocking slower-reacting players from starting their own searches.
Since starting a search isn’t an Atomic Action, this seems to open up the possibility of one player creating an indefinite number of them simultaneously.
They wouldn’t be able to close those indefinite Searches all at once, though, because each one costs 20 Time to close. They’d have to spread out the closings over multiple days.
That may still be sufficient to vote against this, but just pointing out that it’s not as practical to do something like that.
Starting a search isn’t a multistep action though. You can’t split an action that literally consists of making a single post.
BlogNomic is an online Nomic: a self-modifying game where changing the rules is part of the game. Players make blog posts proposing additions or alterations to the ruleset, discussing and casting votes in the comments: if enough vote in favour, the rules are changed and play continues.
The game has been running since 2003 and resets every month or so. Have a look around the wiki for more information and history. New players are always welcome and can join in the game at any time.
