Proposal: Seriously, guys. Victory. Let’s go get it.

Reaches quorum at 13-1.

This proposal is a very slightly slightly changed version of “Proposal: Onward to victory! [Evil]”. I did this because at least three fail votes on the previous version were based on a misunderstanding, and just two votes of those votes would have passed it.

Changelog: better commenting, no “sit down” option (no one voted for it last time), clarification that being tied for highest on the continent isn’t good enough (thanks, Soyweiser), an added bit at the end that takes recent modifications to the Doomsday Device into account, and minor typographical fixes.

——

Create a subrule of “Attributes” entitled “Standing” with text:

Standing, which may be abbreviated STND for all purposes, is the measure of how highly regarded a Henchman is by the other members of the Overlord’s organization.

New Henchmen start with a Standing of 0.

The Overlord may at any time remove any amount of their own standing and increase another henchman’s by the same amount so long as their own standing does not fall below 500.

Creating “Standing” as a subrule of “Attributes” means that it is tracked in the GNDT without my having to say it in the subrule itself.

My idea for standing is that the Overlord’s is fixed at 500, and the standing of all the other henchmen combined will eventually equal 700, so an alliance of maybe 3-5 henchmen will eventually be able to overrule the Overlord in some yet-to-be-defined manner.

——

Set the Overlord’s standing to 590, darknight’s to 1 (because of Operation Hot Cake), and all other henchmen’s to 0.

590 = 500 (base) + 90 (current Influence in Antarctica)

——

Create a rule entitled “Sinister Machinations” with text:

Any henchman other than the Overlord may, as a weekly action, increase their standing and the Overlord’s influence in the continent they are currently on by (xDICE2)-x, if that continent contains no enemy HQs, where x is calculated any of the following ways:
*If they have higher MS than any other henchman on the continent, they may twist a few arms by setting x to their MS-10 plus the combined GL of all other henchmen on the continent, and reducing their MS by half the difference (rounded up) between their MS and the next highest MS on the continent.
*If they have higher INT than any other henchman on the continent, they may organize an assault by setting x to their INT-10 plus the combined MS of all other henchmen on the continent-(10 times the number of other henchmen on the continent), and reducing their INT by half the difference (rounded up) between their Int and the next highest Int on the continent.
*If they have higher GL than any other henchman on the continent, they may subvert the current powers on the continent by setting x to their GL plus the combined INT of all other henchmen on the continent-(10 times the number of other henchmen on the continent), and reducing their GL by half the difference (rounded up) between their GL and the next highest GL on the continent.
*Unless it would make x less than zero, they may set x to any of their MS-10, their Int-10, or their GL, and reduce that statistic by x/4 rounded up.

xDICE2-x is equivalent to flipping x coins and counting how many come up heads.

MS and INT are always used as MS/INT-10 to counteract the starting values of those stats. “The combined MS/INT of all other henchmen on the continent-(10 times the number of other henchmen on the continent)” is equivalent to the combined MS/INT-10 of all the other henchmen on the continent, and easier to write without ambiguity.

The first three options are all the same, but with different stats used.

——

Change the third sentence of the second paragraph of “Doomsday Device” to “The Continent with the most votes after 48 hours is destroyed (it is removed from the Earth gamestate document), and 100 minus the current Influence of that continent is added to the Overlord’s Standing.”

Add “, and the Overlord’s Standing to be increased by the total of these die rolls” to the end of the last sentence of “Doomsday Device”.

This prevents 100-(current continental influence)+6DICE20 potential standing from being lost when the device goes off, maintaining the 500/700 balance.

i think it should be possible to increase influence on a continent, even if there are evil dudes on it, at least to a certain point. but that’s minor.  for
