Proposal: Spacecraft Equipment

If the Proposal titled “Let’s make our way off this silly planet (Spacecraft)” failed, this Proposal does nothing.

Add the following text after the sentence “A positive integer that cannot exceed the ‘Size’ property of the Spacecraft.” in the rule Spacecraft:

Remaining Space: Size - Crew Capacity - Equipment Sizes.  Can’t go below 0.
Power: Combination of the power values of all weapons on the Spacecraft.
Armor: Combination of the armor values of all armor on the Spacecraft.
Speed: Combination of the speed values of all propulsion on the Spacecraft, divided by the Spacecraft’s size.

Create a new sub-rule of Spacecraft titled Equipment:

Spacecraft Equipment(SE) is a kind of item that can be put on a Spacecraft.  Spacecraft Equipment is tracked on the Spacecraft Register wiki page.  Spacecraft Equipment can be added to a spacecraft, if there is enough room.  All SE has a size statistic, which must be a positive integer.  A piece of SE can be on a spacecraft if the Remaining Space of that spacecraft is equal to or larger than the size of the equipment.  Spacecraft equipment comes in three types:

*Weapons: Also have a power stat.  Power can’t go below 1.
*Armor: Has an armor stat that can’t go below 1.
*Propulsion: Has a speed stat that can’t go below 10.

All SE may also have some flavor text.

If at least half of the For votes for this proposal include the text “example”, then create the following pieces of Spacecraft Equipment:

*Light Defence Laser (weapon): Size 1, Power 1
A weak weapon, used as a last resort by most.

*Bargain Armor (armor): Size 1, Armor 1
Gained for a really, really low price.  Wow.

*Orbitus XVI Thrusters (propulsion): Size 70, Speed 1000
Custom-made thrusters for the Orbitus XVI.  Very powerful, but they still only move the Orbitus slightly.

Add all three items to the DDA Mothership, if it exists.

If half or more of the for votes include the text “Power to the Commander!” then create the following dynastic rule, titled Commander Powers:

The DDA Commander may create planar entities, spacecraft equipment, and spacecraft at any time.

Thanks for saving me the pains of fleshing this out. Sorry that your stuck making stuff for that rubbish mothership name though - I wasn’t feeling too imaginative at the time…

I always imagined that players could be on spacecraft and add bonuses to the spacecraft’s capabilities - it would be nice to see this worked ito any ‘Crew’ rules you might make in the future.

Now I’m off to find something else to propose that will require extreme degrees of extension and redefinition to be at all meaningful! Oo-rah!

Not doing the commander one, because it’s got huge potential for a mistake to be made…because the Commander can’t edit the devices once he adds them can he? so if he puts in a loophole on accident that’s it.

The commander part does not include tech, it just includes:

Planar entities (names)

Spacecraft (sets of statistics, no special abilities)

Spacecraft Equipment (sets of statistics, no special abilities)

I don’t see anything there that can be used to create a big loophole.

We may want to give spacecraft equipment and spacecraft special abilities later, and we may want to let Planar Entities have special abilities that automatically activate or that can be activated by a DDA member later on as well.  There is so much possibility with what we have right now.

We could make it to where DDA members summon certain planar entities and can use their abilities alongside their tech.
