Proposal: Special Wizards And Tactics Team

Exceeded Quorum, 6-0 with 1 DEF. Enacted by JonathanDark.

In the rule “Style”, directly after “Ragged,” add “Kevlar,”.

In the rule “Style”, create a new subrule named “Special Styles” with the following body:

If a Style is listed in the following list, it is a Special Style. Each Special Style has a Benefit, which applies only to Wizards that have that Style. The list of Special Styles is as follows:
Kevlar
Benefit:
Whenever you are to lose Stars due to the Effect of a Spell, you instead lose one less Star.

In the rule “Spells”, create a subrule named “Harden” with the following body:

Cost: 5
Effect: The Robes of the Wizard casting this Spell are changed to Kevlar.
Traits: Reclusive

In the rule “Style”, directly after “and what they wish their new value for that Style to become”, add “(unless that Style is a Special Style)”.

giving styles effects
might be too late for this but I’d like to hear your opinions

I had considered that as well. My thoughts were to give an effect for each Staff, but maybe we could extend your idea to all Styles and have a Special Style for each Style type. Then, either change the spell Harden to another spell that allows the Style type as an input, or create similar spells to select the Special Style for Robes and Beards as well.

Sorry, for Staves and Bears as well. You’re already proposing one for Robes.

I feel like rather than a specific spell for each special style, we could just make special styles have a cost directly.

Oh, like spend X stars to change to a Special Style? That would be simpler, but there are also some interesting cases if it’s a spell:

* You can Snipe it and stop another Wizard from changing to a Special Style.

* The spell will accumulate Charm, which will eventually encourage everyone to use it for “free” or “profit” if Charm is allowed to reach 5 on that spell.

It’s too late for now, but as a follow-up Proposal, I’d change “Kevlar” to something more thematic, like “Dragonhide”

for Wizards in Kevlar is a good idea for a game setting, but it’s not the one we’ve been doing so far.
