Sticky post reformatting

After raising it on Slack a couple of days ago I’ve reformatted sticky posts so that they appear as narrow bars which have to be opened manually - it was getting a bit much that players had to scroll down two or three pages to see if there were any new proposals in the game.

Do people think this is a useful permanent format for sticky posts? Or would it generally be better to have the whole post visible, and to instead discourage the overuse of sticky posts?

This still needs some polish: it might make sense to drop the “Sticky Post:” prefix and maybe include the name of the user who posted it in the bar. Could also possibly try a Gmail-style preview of the first sentence of the post, fading away as it runs out of space.

IMO this works well for mobile, at least. Yet to look on desktop. I think as long as we made an effort of giving sticky posts informative titles to avoid things being overlooked it could be a permanent solution.

The desktop version looks slick. You have to give it a good title, but that’s simple enough.

Have added a fading preview thing which looks okay on all my browsers here, but let me know if it’s breaking anywhere.

I’d vote to try this way for a while and see how we do.
