Proposal: Strike the Earth!

Timed out and passed, 9-7 with two unresolved DEFs. Josh

Create a new dynastic rule called “A Bit of Renovating” with the text:

Every farmer has a wine cellar, which consists of 4 partitions. Each partition must either be empty or contain a single construction. The partitions of every farmer’s wine cellar are tracked on the Garden Patch wiki page. All partitions start empty.

Create a subrule of “A Bit of Renovating” called “Contructions”, with the text:

If a farmer has a partition filled by a particular construction, they are said to own that construction. Individual constructions are defined by subrules of this rule.

I’ll propose some actual constructions a bit later on.

for Interesting idea.

Question: will each construction have its own way of being acquired or will there be some universal way (such as spending X of Y)?

I’m intending that you just spend some sun/water for most of them, but I might put exceptions in there.

Two kinds of constructions are possible: Firstly, some research constructions which enable you to build bigger and cooler plants or upgrade existing plants (eg. use a special fertilizer for the sunflowers to produce more sun) and secondly, some zombie-building-constructions.

Zombies should be able to enter the cellar, I assume. But it should be quiet hard to get there.

How is it a lot of tracking overhead? There’s only 4 partitions per person, and we’re already tracking 36 squares of land per person.

It’s more that the 36 squares of land collapse into a nice square, and an extra unseparated 4 that mean something else would need to go somewhere else on the page.

Yah, there’s really nothing that this can do that we can’t do in the Plots.

One advantage over plots is that we could have custom-built Constructions which are described in more unique detail than a single letter on a grid.

Who says the plots are limited to one letter?

Keba:

The celar is protected better than the garden, that could be an advantage.

for I say use it to geneticly alter seeds to either make them twice as effective (like the double sunflower) or turn them into a more powerful weapon against zombies (like a seed that turns two corn catapults into a cob cannon (itself an expensive but very deadly weapon to have))
