wooden mallet seems way too OP, there’d be no reason to not use it over the axe or flamethrower. either scrap it or nerf the effect (i’m in favor of the former since I feel like there’s no way to have a gadget like that without completely deprecating shove strats).

wide axel feels way too situational to be worth using

snap-on socket 1. doesn’t work if the bot has used all its hardpoints (since it’s phrased as adding a system and THEN destroying the socket) and 2. incentivizes stalemates where nobody gets set

gold-plated connectors feels like it has potential to be extremely broken (also, pretty confusing wording? “While this System is on this Bot”)

the selling of deprecated systems should also work on systems in the spare parts bin

Wooden Mallet does a lot less damage than the Axe and doesn’t have the status effect of the Flamethrower (although tbh the flamethrower could use a buff). It exists primarily as a shove counterplay, and I’m okay with that as shove is hard to counter at the moment [see: Hat, Hard] - it costs a hardpoint and doesn’t support any other strategy.

Wide axle is necessary now for shove strategies, ironically, which can be disrupted by poorly-placed traps.

Gold-plated connectors has to be worded like that as an Operator can submit a Script in the workshop with the double-line then remove the System.

Oh, on Snap-on-Socket stalemates: it costs more than winning currently earns, so my guess its that its use will be very situational, around avoiding condition loss more than winning bouts.

re wooden mallet: fair enough in terms of axe/flamethrower, but it still completely deprecates shove strategies. there’s no reason to dedicate your entire bot to a shove strategy when you could use a mallet, which 1. allows you to fit other equipment onto your bot and 2. can be used from a longer range compared to pure shoving

I fully believe shove strategies can already be countered with strategic use of evades/flips/whatnot. we’ll see how my bout with Snisbo turns out

gold-plated connectors + axe + flipper is an instant kill (once the flip goes off). same with gold-plated connectors + cow catcher assuming high shove power advantage

plus mallet is still OP. I’d greentick a separate proposal dedicated to the defunt systems

  I’m also not keen on deprecating parts. Sure they’re extra rule text, but as the meta changes due to rules changes, having extra options is valuable.
