Proposal: Tantric Blognomic

Timed out and passed, 7-4. Josh

In the first sentence of the subrule entitled Unblokcing Chakras, change “defaulting to zero” to “defaulting to blank”.

In the second paragraph of the same subrule, remove “1 Chakra and” from “Upon doing so, the Monk who Unblocked the Dynasty gains 1 Chakra and 1 Chronotohm.”

Add the following to the end of the second paragraph of that subrule:

They may also add ‘XX Chakra (YY)’ to their Chakra field, where YY is the number of the Dynasty that they have Unblocked, and XX is the Chakra that has been unlocked.

There are seven Chakra, and whenever a Time Monk unlocks a Chakra they may select which Chakra they have unblocked. Each Time Monk may only open each Chakra only once. Each Chakra, once unlocked, confers an effect upon the Time Monk, which takes effect immediately and permanently. Once a Time Monk has unblocked all seven Chakra, they may not unblock any further Chakra and have become Enlightened. The seven Chakra are as follows:

* Sahasrara: The Crown Chakra: A Time Monk with an unblocked Crown Chakra may not themselves undertake any action that would cause them to raise or lower the numerical value of any statistic tracked in GNDT Field 1.
* Ajna: The Brow Chakra: A Time Monk with an unblocked Brow Chakra may not vote DEF on any proposal.
* Vishuddha: The Throat Chakra: A Time Monk with an unblocked Throat Chakra may not send private messages to other Time Monks or the Time Buddha, or communicate with them via other means outside of the gamestate.
* Anahata: The Heart Chakra: A Time Monk with an unblocked Heart Chakra must, whenever they enter a dynasty whose ruleset allows them to transfer numerical values of their GNDT statistics to other Time Monks, transfer 50% (rounded down) of each of those numerical values to the Time Monk(s) of their choice.
* Manipura: The Solar Plexus Chakra: Whenever a Time Monk with an unlocked Solar Plexus Chakra unblocks another Chakra, they must reset all of their GNDT statistics to their default values for the dynasty in which they just unblocked a Chakra.
* Swadhisthana: The Sacral Chakra: A Time Monk with an unblocked Sacral Chakra may take all weekly actions as daily actions, but must take all daily actions as weekly actions.
* Muladhara: The Root Chakra: A Time Monk with an unblocked Root Chakra may never spend more than 1 Chronotohm to change their Occupied Dynasty, but may gain 1 Chronotohm at any time, provided that they had not gained a Chronotohm through this method in the preceding 48 hours.

Add the following to the end of that subrule:

An Enlightened Time Monk has achieved victory.

Any Time Monk with a value other than zero in their Chakra field may unblock that number of Chakras. They must perform this action before performing any other game action, including voting or proposing.

for For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. Acts 28:27

imperial For clarification, the Root Chakra effect states that a Time Monk “may never spend more than 1 Chronotohm”. Does this mean they can’t achieve the effect of spending more than 1 Chronotohm, or that they may do anything related to spending Chronotohms, but simply not lose more than 1?

against cool concept, don’t really like some of the descriptions.

Ajna is pointless. Vishuddha is impossible to inforce and also rather annoying if you actually know people in the game. Imagine if Quackers and his brother showed back up? Swadhisthana everyone is just going to do last and Muladhara second to last.

against same as Clucky, I like the concept but the effects I don’t.

I’m happy to hear suggestions for amendments to the effects. Specific points, though:

* I’m not averse to there being a perceived “correct” order for selection, although I disagree that the Sacral Chakra will always be last - getting to do weekly actions daily will be incredibly powerful in some dynasties.
* Throat Chakra is going to have to be based on the honour system, but I’m basically fine with that - cheating at nomic is easy, but really goes against the point of the game.
* I don’t mind Root being the last one that people take. Ultimately the purpose of this is to throw up new challenges for players as they get closer to victory. That doesn’t need to be terribly subtle.
