If the Proposal titled “Proximity” failed, this Proposal does nothing.
Add a new Dynastic Rule to the Ruleset entitled “Microjumps” containing the following text:
Each Traveller may set eir TL to the TL of any Traveller within 30 game days. In addition, each Traveller may set eir TL to any date within eir Range once every 48 hours.
I don’t like the theory of laddering your way along a bunch of people 30 days apart.
I like the ladder idea, but I think it should have some frequency limit. As written, a Traveller could seemingly microjump any number of times in just a few real minutes.
Right, Coldspell, but not very far. only to the exact location of another (very, very, close) Traveller. Even if all 15 of the currently active Travellers were perfectly lined up, the total distance of the Traveller-to-Traveller microjumps would barely be more than a single year.
I think there ought to be a limit on how often a Traveller can move. Under the first part of this rule, a Traveller can hop back and forward between two locations incessantly.
Also, is that 48 real or game hours (presumably real).
While I agree that there should be a limit on move frequency, at this point I think we might as well adopt the rule and fix it later.
BlogNomic is an online Nomic: a self-modifying game where changing the rules is part of the game. Players make blog posts proposing additions or alterations to the ruleset, discussing and casting votes in the comments: if enough vote in favour, the rules are changed and play continues.
