Welcome to The International Date Line Dynasty.

The IDLD Dynasty is a group of public message boards which cater to the needs of those interested in the International Date Line.

These boards are run in the following way.

We have a main board called The International Date Line. This is an open board. This board allows anyone to post a message. Anyone can make a guest post by emailing me at neddsmedia at yahoo dot com (be sure to put The International Date Line in the title). We also have the following boards.

What can you expect from the service

So overall, I think the limit of max tokens to 200 is a bit unfortunate, but you only get 200 for free. And these are probably good enough. Though we might want to update the ability to clean up unfinished sentences I’m not sure.

The GPT really needs more guidance than “Welcome to X”: that doesn’t contain any hints that the thing we want it to describe is a game, or that it should be writing in the past tense. We could load it up with some heavy-handed priming (eg. “The players played the deconstruction game, a game about deconstruction. The first rule was”) and then drop the first sentence before adding it to the dynasty page.

This generates ascension addresses, not dynasty summaries. So I think its actually good that its not describing a game. They are a little wonky to be sure, but do kinda feel like an ascension address outlining the theme of the dynasty a bit.

I think a followup using some key words from the AA to generate a dynasty summary that actually talks about the gameplay would definitely be cool

Oh, I took “Ascension Text” to mean the final summary of how the dynasty was won. Even an ascension address could benefit from some framing that it’s talking about a game, though:

“Welcome to the Deconstruction game. I am imagining a series of games where you play the role of a team that wants to take apart things, not create things. And maybe the way that it is done is by taking apart things and see how they work.

The most visible example is our current government. The way that it was taken down by the people is a great thing. But now the people should be the ones who restore it and make it right. For the game I am imagining, this is not what is going to happen.”
