Create a new rule entitled “The Big One” consisting of the following text, and place it directly below the rule “Fish Function”:
The Big One is a fish (i.e. an alphanumeric string of letters that satisfies the Fish Function) that is privately tracked by the Elder Judge. The number of characters in the Big One is a publicly tracked integer called the “Length of the Big One”. If The Elder Judge has not set the Big One, they should do so and update the Length of the Big One at their earliest convenience.
For each string submitted by a Fishing Contestant as part of a Fish Identification, the Elder Judge should privately inform that Fishing Contestant how many consecutive characters of the string (starting from the beginning) exactly match the corresponding characters in the Big One.
For instance, if the Big One is “abcd”, then “xabcd” matches zero characters while “axcd” matches one character.
SingularByte: he/him
We’ll probably need to actually flag up when someone guesses it, but there’s plenty of time for that.
