Rune Master Xan hasn’t commented since October 2009 - so far as I can tell, he unidled last week to make a Wish to change the header of a dynasty he wasn’t playing, and hasn’t taken a single game action since. (If this kind of thing is his only purpose in BlogNomic - is he another player’s brother? - I think we might need a new Fair Play rule.)
He was really creeped out by the header. Also, yes, he’s my brother. He hasn’t done anything abusive - he joined, voted, idled, unidled, made a wish. And that wish wasn’t even a scam to get me to win.
Whether or not he helped you out (I was also fed up of the large header image, but didn’t want to burn a wish to undo it, which seemed to be the most appropriate avenue), sitting around soaking up quorum without voting isn’t great.
I don’t think he can be idled, as he hasn’t requested it and he has posted (although not commented) within the past 7 days.
Hmm, if the idling really was illegal, then that affects the gamestate quite badly by causing proposals to have been illegally enacted and holding up the queue. Given that my attempt last dynasty to make that sort of mistake automatically become valid failed, this could lead to a massive mess.
BlogNomic is an online Nomic: a self-modifying game where changing the rules is part of the game. Players make blog posts proposing additions or alterations to the ruleset, discussing and casting votes in the comments: if enough vote in favour, the rules are changed and play continues.
The game has been running since 2003 and resets every month or so. Have a look around the wiki for more information and history. New players are always welcome and can join in the game at any time.
