Proposal: The Power of Loki

Passed 11-1 - Enacted by Chivalrybean

Adminned at 19 Nov 2007 19:33:30 UTC

Create a new dynastic rule “Loki”

There exists an entity Loki that is not the Allfather or a Valkyrie.  Loki may, however, have a section in the [[Einherjar]] page.

Change the text:

If there are no (non-retracted) bids on the Einherjar, then the Einherjar is added to the list of Einherjar recruited by the Allfather.

to read

If there are no (non-retracted) bids on the Einherjar, then the Einherjar is added to the list of Einherjar recruited by Loki.

So for those that are wondering, I name Loki such, because I want his powers to be explicit, each power that loki has should be in the Loki rule, not spread around the rules set (unless specifically referenced).

for COV: actually, this makes sense to the genre. we’re supposed to be recruiting them, but if they aren’t recruited, they must be on the side of the giants…

I like that I requested a combatative nomic, and am the first to create a villian for us all to fight :P

for Although, for even more combat we could dig out the Adversary rule from the dark murk of the archives and have Loki be a player.

I’m not sure I like this—if Hix posts an available Einherjar, this rule would mean that if people don’t bid right away, then the Einherjar might become unavailable.  I’d prefer for the “free agents” to continue to be available. against

err…no…it means that they go to Loki instead of Hix.  Presently, they aren’t available anyway, it just makes a “bad guy” instead of hix, who picks up the ones that don’t get hired.

(1) One could always cheat loki by having bids of zero on all available Einherjar (but this would only work if you’ve got unlimited portfolio slots).
(2) The timing is undefined—the instant that the einherjar is posted, there will be no bids on it.  When does Hix test whether Loki should get the einherjar?

Errr…after 48 hours, per the rule that existed that I’m edited.

for Seems all right.  I doubt an Einherjar will go unbid any time soon, though.

Also, what prevents making lame Einherjar that no one will bid on so Loki loses all the time?

Like, we could create Loki’s army out of Barney the Purple Dinosaur, The Watermelon from Buckaroo Banzai, Otis, and Uwe Boll

hix prevents that, when he choses which to accept :)

Also, since no one knows who is bidding, even good ones might slip through if no one bids thinking others have.
