metadynasties are a lose state for all players imo

Given what seems to be a trend of strange dynasties, let’s go for it!

Sometimes a lose state is what is required.

COV . It’s been pointed out that this next dynasty is almost certainly the switch dynasty, and that’s a poisoned chalice for anyone who wants player focus on what’s going on. Under the circumstances, a frivolous throwaway might be better.

Perhaps any metadynasty created by this rule should be explicitly concerned with the Switch, and that should be the theme of the dynasty?

I can easily imagine a dynasty whose purpose is to just act as a prelude to some other dynasty elsewhere, e.g. by defining a few gamestate variables that would likely subsequently be usable in a new dynasty without knowing its theme.

we’re probably gonna have a metadynasty when we switch to WP anyways. Might mean back to back metadynasties which wouldn’t be much fun.

Seems as good a time as any with a switch two weeks away, and a nice piece of meaningless tradition: the downsides of lacking an Emperor could be patched up dynastically.

[Clucky] Why would we have to start a second metadynasty at the instant of the switch, instead of continuing the first one? The switch is just a moment when we start using a different blog.

What is the plan for the switch?

I was thinking it would be more “run a trial game alongside normal blognomic, and then assuming it goes well merge the gamestates” like we did before. (note how the second dynasty of josh didn’t actually have a winner. it just ended when we merged blogs)

There is also something to be said about how 75th trombone won’t have the WP blog ready for another three weeks. So while a planned dynasty that has a built in timer and is only designed to last a month would work well, a non-planned meta dynasty would leave us in this weird state where we need to make sure the dynasty doesn’t end to soon.
