Maybe just add a clause that makes it clear that only the core rule called “Vampire Lords” is excluded?

I’d included “except in references to the names of rules” to protect the wording of Idling/Downtime, on the grounds that that would also happen when we rename Vampire Lords, since “Players” is a synonym for them and would also be replaced.

That doesn’t cover the actual names of rules though, so I’ve changed it to “except in the names of rules, and references to the names of those rules”. Thanks.

I don’t think it hits any of the concerns raised there, does it? It seemed an obvious short title, and easier than trying to legislate never calling a dynastic rule “[the thing that players are called this dynasty]”, because we call them that a lot.

It could have an opening line of something like “During this dynasty of the game, players are known as Vampire Lords”, with some cellophane to stop that seventh word from being replaced, but I think it reads okay without.

I still don’t get why this can’t just be solved by going

Rules “Ruleset and Gamestate”, the core rule “Vampire Lords”, “Dynasties”, “Fair Play”, “Mentors”

Oh, got it, you mean in the Idling and Synonyms rules, I thought you meant synonym swapping. Yes, that would cover it. Proposal updated to just say that all the rules referred to are core/appendix.

Note that the existence of this bug means that idle Vampire Lords have publicly tracked statistics at the moment. I’ve added them to the wiki tracker, and we should remove them again when this passes.
