Replace the words “72 hours” in the rules “Buyers” and “Whose To Sell?” with the words
12 hours
Fewer active players means the clock should speed up a little, I think.

(Other than the Auction itself, which would still be on a 24 hour clock if this were to pass.)
Per community guidelines, I think any clock of less than 24 hours is contrary to the spirit of the game.
Don’t you think that’s, in a small way, reductive? The 4 hour edit window is good for the game, as an example.
The 4 hour edit window is a compromise; enough people prefer it to the opposite poles of “no edit window” or “8 hour edit window” that is is the current status quo, but it has flaws, and those flaws all stem from the fact that 4 hours is a lump of time that is far shorter than the actual lifecycle of the game.
What’s under proposal here isn’t the edit window, though; it’s a gameplay mechanic for which the only benefit of an accelerated pace is that players can do it more often, meaning that ‘optimal’ play requires checking into the game more often, an erosion of the balance between playing the game and stepping away from the game, and handing an advantage to the extremely online, for no real actual benefit beyond “speeding up the game”. In other words: it’s an exact example of the use case that the community guidelines were drafted to prevent.
If the windows in question were about closing auctions or otherwise removing opportunities to notice things in play, Josh, then I would agree with you and I wouldn’t have drafted this change. But this just allows players to OPEN auctions more quickly, and give Bucks to Buyers, a mechanic no one has used as far as I can tell. There is no impact on the optimality of frequent check-ins in either case.
TyGuy6:
Maybe 24 hours is better; I had to fix the Auctions to go by the 24 hour clock. Up to you, though; it’s not like creating Auctions or increasing Buyer Bucks has much player interaction.
