Proposal: Time Machine

Times out and fails at 2-9. -Purplebeard

Add a new rule to the ruleset, entitled Time Machines

A Time Monk may only travel in between dynasties (in accordance with other rules in place) if they have a working Time Machine.
A Time machine consists of 4 parts: the Flux Capacitor, nuclear reactor, controls , and the hull, each of which can be either working or broken.
A Time machine is only working if and only if all 4 of its parts are working.  The state of the Time machine and its components shall be tracked with the GNDT.
Each Time Monk begins with a fully working Time Machine.

When a Time Monk travels from one dynasty to another, the Time Monk must roll DICE20.  If the result is 1-4, then one of the Time Machine’s components break.  (The Time Monk may choose any working component to break).  If the result is 4-6, then two of the Time Machine’s components break.  If the result is 7-8, then three components break.  If the result is 9, then all four components break.  Otherwise, the Time Machine remains intact.

Repairing Components:

A Time Monk may pay an eschaton (read this as Chronotohm if Josh’s rule at http://blognomic.com/blognomic/archive/slip_the_surly_bonds/ passes) in order to repair an item of his Time Machine.  A Time Monk must announce whenever doing such.

against just seems like it gets in the way. Also you didn’t name the proposal “Little Blue Box”

I like the ambition, but worry that this is purely negative as a mechanic - it just gets in the way occasionally and doesn’t add anything interesting for players to do.  against

against Does seem a bit negative, really.

It’s worth using blockquote tags to highlight what is and isn’t rule text.
