Thought I’d repropose this legally.
Add the following to the Ruleset, immediately before section 2.7.1:
A Student may give away eir copy of a Tome, if e can find another Student willing to receive it. After this happens, the first Student no longer possesses the copy and the second Student possesses it (obviously).
. If you trust anyone enough to have them hold your tomes for you, you deserve to lose them.
That isn’t my point. My point is that trusting people could abuse this rule. Unless you think Scheming is good…
Scheming is good. I am a little worried by your third point, though. I wonder if we could persuade Bucky to change the wording of his rule slightly.
BlogNomic is an online Nomic: a self-modifying game where changing the rules is part of the game. Players make blog posts proposing additions or alterations to the ruleset, discussing and casting votes in the comments: if enough vote in favour, the rules are changed and play continues.
The game has been running since 2003 and resets every month or so. Have a look around the wiki for more information and history. New players are always welcome and can join in the game at any time.

1) Lost students can give all their tomes to another student of their choice to prevent them from being flinched.
2) If my proposal passes, this allows students with many tomes to work their way around giving up tomes.
3) With the Tome of the Week, a student could get on, give all copies of the tome away eimself before anyone else had a chance.
