Proposal: Trials hit too hard?

In the rule “Trials”, replace

has their Clearance set to 0


has their Clearance halved (rounding towards 0)

This way it’s still a Clearance hit, but doesn’t leave all the Trial victims tied at 0.

(To explain: Sylphrena’s been systematically acting in a way to remove/reduce all Clearance manipulation from the ruleset, or otherwise make it unusable. This is entirely expected in his position, of course, given that he got lucky on a Mission roll eariler. It doesn’t mean I have to like it, though.)

against We’ve had these rules for a while and a lot of game activity in the form of Trials, yet no empirical examples of Clearance ties. This stems from the many ways, most of them usually advantageous and thus conducive to action, for Crewmembers to change other Crewmembers’ Clearances.

We haven’t had any actual Trials pass though. The fact that we haven’t had Clearance ties has more to do with the fact that there hasn’t been much Clearance adjustment (a fact that has indirectly caused much frustration in this Dynasty).

I think we just need one more person either Disabled or idle, and then, with Command Quorum reduced to 3, we’ll have a chance at actually having working trials.

At least, I hope things will start moving soon.
