Proposal: Truth Hurts

Self-killed. Failed by Kevan.

Adminned at 03 Feb 2017 22:43:27 UTC

To the rule “Diseases”, add:-

Villagers should not reveal their own non-Visible Symptoms to other players, nor what Diseases they think they might have, and may lie about these things in conversation.

Per comments on the town meeting, a nudge that lying about some things is expected this dynasty. (Unless we think it isn’t.)

(Players obviously still have the option to lie all they like in conversation, even if this rule is not enacted.)

This proposal is interesting to me because this would change the value of a player’s assets earned so far (both actual in-game assets and intellectual ones such as personal understanding of the game and expectations) based on something social (warnings and recommendations) rather than pure mechanics.

Its a grand “repricing” because the entire context these assets exist in would change. (And via something that isn’t pure formal mechanics which is super cool. Although I feel that this proposal is a bit late.)

against Self-kill on reflection, as this would put an odd pressure against players voluntarily sharing information with allies.
