Proposal: Understanding

Self-killed. Failed by Brendan.

Adminned at 19 Mar 2015 18:18:18 UTC

Dependent on Grandstanding.
In rule “Death and Reincarnation”, change “If a Townsperson is in a perilous condition and their Home is neither empty nor only containing a single Human, any Townsperson may (and should) make them die by setting their Home to “@” and remove, if they have any, their workplace, their birthsigns and their vision. Also set their Fate to 0.” to:

If a Townsperson is in a perilous condition and their Home is neither empty nor only containing a single Human, any Townsperson may (and should) make them die by setting their Home to “@” and setting all their other variables to the default values.

Standing shouldn’t be kept beyond death.

Why shouldn’t it?

Because it’s otherwise scammable, and because it makes thematical sense that we all try and avoid death.
Other options include a fixed Standing loss and/or setting one’s Workplace to Home.

against I’m not seeing a scam here. And it seems thematically fine to interpret death as one’s replacement by a distant relative, and for Standing to be that of a wider family.

for If this doesn’t pass, there should at least be a standing loss.

against A flat Standing loss would be better, I think.

against CoV in favor of my own proposal with a Standing loss.
