I regret not having been able to participate fully in this dynasty; it looked very interesting.
it ended sooner than i expected, but overall im v happy with how it turned out!! i enjoyed seeing what everybody did with their world data :0
if there was one mechanic i feel was underutilized, it was data stores? we were coming up w/ lots of uses for them towards the end but they didn’t contribute *much* to the end result of things
BlogNomic is an online Nomic: a self-modifying game where changing the rules is part of the game. Players make blog posts proposing additions or alterations to the ruleset, discussing and casting votes in the comments: if enough vote in favour, the rules are changed and play continues.
The game has been running since 2003 and resets every month or so. Have a look around the wiki for more information and history. New players are always welcome and can join in the game at any time.
BlogNomic is powered by pMachine ExpressionEngine.

Good to see some traitoring. I’d priced it in into the escape plan, under the pressure that other players could be teaming up in a similar speed and direction, and (more compellingly) that lead player Clucky would just pair up with someone else if I declined an alliance. Proposing any countermeasures to the narrow chance of being traitored didn’t seem worth the large “hi, I’ve teamed up with someone” flag it would raise, but I was probably playing over-cautiously, as usual. (I was loathe to even fix the bug in IMPERSONATE, in case it would give away that I was planning to use the action soon.)
I really liked the image-search mechanic, particularly having to juggle things around to get every effect I wanted with the minimum of resets. Was fun to notice minor details in pictures that I’d never seen before but were the exact thing I needed, and having seen season one of Westworld, this image was a good (if not very useful) one to be dealt.
Also +1 for a dynasty’s gameplay metaphors being strong enough that if we’d thought about it, Clucky and I should have realised that relocating the Head Desk to the Rooftop shouldn’t be possible while the roof door was locked. It did feel like a nice little world simulation, there - it was satisfying to be able to safely lock the humans out of my Server Room when I knew it was secure.
