i’d like to hear 75th’s opinion

I agree with tantusar

The innovaation of the wordpress blog won’t by itself be enough to complete the switch. We shouldn’t wrap this one up until we’re fully ready to restart.

  (But this icon does not count! The account I am posting from is not a player, so this is not a vote!)

A few things. Number one, some confusion of my own making: “75th Trombone” is not a player and has never been a player. “75th Trombone” is the technical steward. “Seventy-Fifth Trombone” is an idle player. (This problem will not exist on the new site; server admin posts will come from “Admin”.)

Number two, as Josh alluded to, the state I will have the site in tomorrow will not be ready for the main game. Just like we did in 2005, there will be a testing dynasty on the new site in parallel with the main blog while we iron out the kinks. Once the players of that testing dynasty feel like we’re ready, then we will draft something to merge the games.

Number 2b, no matter how long it takes to iron out the kinks, we don’t know how long the testing dynasty will take; there may well be time for the Ninth Metadynasty to end and a victor to be declared for reasons having nothing to do with the Second Switch. We should let it play out for now.

Meh my last paragraph is borderline gibberish because I edited parts of it without fixing the whole thing. You get the idea, though.

s/k. I did sort of intend for this to be when we have a good feel for the wordpress blog, not necessarily as soon as it’s ready. Maybe it does make more sense for the GCB to be a quorum of players on wordpress.
