Proposal: We Are Not Alone, now with proposal power!

Reaches quorum at 16-1. Enacted. - lilomar

Add a new RED dynastic rule entitled “We Are Not Alone” with text as follows:

When a new Citizen joins the game, or when an idle Citizen who has not previously participated in this Dynasty reactivates, the High-Programmer may (within 48 hours) determine whether this Citizen is a member of one or more groups, enumerated in subrules to this rule, in a manner of his choosing. Whenever the High-Programmer determines that a Citizen is a member of a group, the High-Programmer shall notify that Citizen via PM but shall not alert that Citizen of the identity of any other members of that group.

“High-Programmer, why are those men staring at me?”
“Do not worry, citizen. You, those men, you are all my children, and anything one of you does is done for all of us.”
“So I don’t have anything to worry about?”
“I don’t know, citizen. Is there something you should be worried about?”
“I suppose not.”
“Sometimes this line of thought can be difficult for citizens. Take some time to recuperate. I have cleared thirty minutes in a rec pod with some stimutax for you.”
“Thank you, High-Programmer.”

imperial Does the word “RED” automatically put this in the Red Clearance Level? Or does it just make this proposal, like, maroonish?

RED Citizen, Citizen with RED Clearance, RED Clearance Citizen, Citizen with a Clearance Level of RED all should mean the same thing, and I think they do by the ‘default to English’ standard. The same goes for Rules.

If you think so, I guess it must be true, High-Programmer.

(A red Citizen, on the other hand, would imply that the Citizen in question has deviated from the norm, and is probably a Mutant-Traitor-Skum.

Idle against. This does not provide a way for existing citizens to join groups.

arrow  for  Darth Cliche sounds like a Commie-Mutant-Traitor.  The Computer will protect us from his malign influence!

Darth Cliche, I hope the Computer will forgive your minor treason, but to assuage your complaint, my second proposal does exactly that. I split this in two in order to get the ball rolling (I assumed this would pass without much furor but that people might want different group names than I proposed).

This proposal doesn’t allow working on players within 48 hours of its own adoption, only the beginning of the dynasty.

lilomar:

coppro: its sister proposal allows that.
