Proposal: We Can All See The Clock

Self-killed, failed by Kevan.

Adminned at 28 Apr 2009 05:25:25 UTC

In Rule 2.2, replace “the Producer may declare the Act to be Finished” with “any Scripter may declare the Act to be Finished”.

We’ve got a suggested 72-hour timeout on acts, but they’ve been sitting around for over a week, lately. Maybe anyone should be able to close them, without even having to steal the Producer’s chair.

against Sometimes a scene doesn’t get enough submissions within the 72 hours, and it makes sense to keep it open longer. I’d suggest requiring that it reaches at least 75% of its target body count and has been open 72 hours; in other words, stricter conditions than for the Producer to be able to close it. (And I don’t think the week-long openness for scenes is a bad thing, it’s the main thing that’s giving me enough time for BlogNomic at the moment.)

against Things like Development Hell can significantly change the pace of an Act. Maybe if any Scripter could end it once the Target Body Count is reached, but the Producer can force-end it after 72 hours as normal?

1)Post some blatant ‘subliminal’ advertising
2)End the act
3)Profit
4)???

against Perhaps 72 hours and no one has commented for 24 hours?

Except that we don’t get advertising royalties automatically any more, Bucky; we have to wait for the Producer to acknowledge them as “worthy”.
