Proposal: Which reminds me…, proposal version

Adminned at 27 Jul 2010 18:27:04 UTC

If keywords have been replaced by an Ascension Address between this proposal’s proposal and its enactment, make the same keyword replacements on this proposal before enacting it.

In rule 1.2 “@s”, immediately after

Some @s are Admins, responsible for updating the site and the Ruleset, and are signified as such in the sidebar. @s who wish to become Admins may sign up with a username for the Ruleset Wiki, and submit a Proposal to make themselves Admins. Existing Admins may be removed from their posts by Proposal, CfJ, or voluntary resignation. New admins shall be given the GNDT configuration password when they become admins.

add

Non-Admins can also perform actions that the Rules state are exclusive to Admins, such as enacting proposals, if an Admin would be allowed to do so and they have the technical capability to do so.

The 15 minutes are easily up now. See my commentary on the previous proposal.

imperial I like the idea, but what if someone was removed from the set of Admins by proposal, and then continued using admin powers anyway for questionable purposes / scams / etc.?

against .  Scammy alternative interpretations and all that.

@dbdougla: When unadminned, people are removed from the set of Admins on the blog as well as on the sidebar.

@Bucky: I can’t see a scam interpretation…

I’m worried about non-admins proposing a valid proposal with a scammy alternative interpretation of its non-rule text, then adminning it themselves to use the scammy interpretation

against Your basis for creating this Proposal was to force non-admins enact their own complicated Proposal… which this does not in fact do. They are free to not-enact the Proposal as well.

And there are reasons that admins are in charge of this: new blognomicians are more likely to make mistakes and/or malicious distortions than admins.

According to the timestamps, ais523’s self-kill was posted 37 seconds into hiatus.

Purplebeard:

...which doesn’t matter, as you can now legally vote during hiatus. Never mind.

Wasn’t the whole point of having a 24 hour hiatus so that kind of thing couldn’t happen?
