Append the following to rule Treasure Maps:

Any Admin may, as a weekly action, make a story post rolling DICEX and DICEY (in that order), where X is the number of active Captains located at Home Port and Y is the number of unowned Treasure Maps. E shall also include the name of the Captain whose position in alphabetical order (from the set of Active Captains located at Home Port) matches the number rolled by DICEX, as well as the name of the Treasure Map whose position in alphabetical order (from the set of unowned Treasure Maps) matches the number rolled by DICEY. The named Captain, has 48 hours to respond to that post with a comment claiming the Map and paying 1 GrogOrSake. If e does so within the time limit, the named Treasure Map becomes owned by that Captain. This process is known as “Visiting the Tavern”.

for getting the captains in home port sorted lexicographically will be a bit of a chore, but this is a great idea. also, i can see a rush of people wanting to become admins for this—as this is almost an in-game action, seems this role should either be conducted only by the dread pirate (maybe up to daily), or by any captain (keeping it weekly)

against COV—also, what happens if two admins both end up rolling the same treasure before the other has been claimed, but before the prior 48 hours have passed?

I thought about giving this action to the Dread Captain only, but pondered that it might be too much of a chore for a single person. Since Jack is an admin too, it doesn’t matter however.

On the other hand if the situation you describe happens, the last person to claim it keeps it. Perhaps it should be better if it worked backwards, and the first person to claim it keeps it. Or if there had to be an insult swordfight to break ties. That could be done as an ammendment later.

I like Bucky’s idea, but I’d prefer that to be an independent proposal. Like, if you defeat another Captain you can take a copy of one of er Treasure Maps or something like that.
