Proposal: You Are Here

At the top of the rule “The Laboratory”, add:-

[[File:Laboratory map.png|thumb|400px|The map of the Laboratory]]

Replace everything including and after “The following list gives Rooms in the Laboratory and their Connections:” in the rule “The Laboratory” with:-

Each white-floored area on the map which is enclosed by a black wall and which also contains a text string is a Room, with the string as its name. The thin white rectangles with no text are Doors: if two Rooms both adjoin the same Door, then those two Rooms are Connected.

For each Genetic Engineer and Organism that was in the room called “Hallway 1” when this proposal’s enactment began, move that entity to “Hallway”.

Adding ten more rooms and making a map of them. (I’ll make the dungeonscrawl.com source file available somewhere if this enacts.)

My only concern is that it raises the bar somewhat for being able to add to the map. In text form, anyone can do it with ease (though to be fair it’s hard to visualize). Using dungeonscrawl.com, as easy and free as it is, there’s still a bit more work involved.

When I was Emperor of the haunted house dynasty, I volunteered to do the work. I’m not sure if we should push that workload to the current Emperor or all of the players.

If we have any players who aren’t confident in editing an image, they could just enact ruletext like “The Server Room is a Room which has a two-way connection to the Computer Room.” and someone else could make a proposal to repeal the sentence and update the map image later on.

From the general narrative so far, though, I’m not expecting the map to expand or change as much as Banewood Mansion did.

for Haven’t used dungeonscrawl before, but it looks simple enough. I wouldn’t mind having the responsibility of updating the image.
