Proposal: You Gotta Be IN Lacuna to DO Lacuna
In the rule “Lacunaic Actions”, add the following text:
Lacunaic Actions may only be taken while the game is in a state of Lacuna.
Revert all Heightened Mill actions taken between 06 April 2025 18:24 UTC and the enactment of this Proposal.
I don’t think we patched up the issue that allowed ais to put the game in a state of Lacuna in the first place. I’m assuming that if we really want to play on and not go immediately to a state of Lacuna again, we don’t want to leave this exploit in.

For what it’s worth, I didn’t even consider this a scam – I assumed from the start of the dynasty that Heightened Mill was supposed to be usable outside Lacuna, and that the reason that players didn’t use it is because they wanted to hang onto their Jokers.
The original wording was “As a Daily Action, but no more than three times in the dynasty, a Nomicer may reduce the Equity of another Nomicer other than the Nomicer who posted the Announcement of Attainment by 2; if they do so they may then immediately increase their own Equity by 2.” To me, it didn’t make sense to have a 3-per-dynasty daily action that could only be used during a 48-hour period; you’d be naturally limited to using it twice (three times if you could timing-scam it to it the three days that that 48-hour period covered), so why is there a 3-per-dynasty limit if the action can’t possibly be performed more than three times anyway?
Along similar reasoning, I’m not sure that this is a beneficial change; a super-mill that costs a non-renewable Joker doesn’t seem like a broken thing to do outside Lacuna, whereas confining the super-mills to happen inside Lacuna means that you only have a limited time period to spend your Jokers (something that was also relevant earlier this dynasty).
