Proposal: You gotta walk the walk even if you can’t talk the talk

Create a new rule ‘Agendas’:

There exists a wiki-document called ‘Candidate Agendas’. When a Candidate posts BS, if that statement starts with ‘When I’m elected,’ all the text after it in that comment becomes added to the Candidate Agendas document. This text is known as a BS Promise (or just Good Intentions). Good Intentions within the document shall be grouped by the name of the candidate that made them, and numbered starting from 1 for each Candidate.

When a Candidate achieves victory, create a new rule called ‘Dynastic Agenda’  with the text, “This rule and its sub-rules cannot be repealed by President Thog”. Under that rule, for each BS Promise listed for the winning Candidate, create a new sub-rule named ‘Item N’ where N is number of the BS Promise, and that BS Promises’ text becomes the new sub-rules text.

If the Candidate Agendas wiki-document already exists, blank it.

against even if this passed the new rule couldn’t be added because of a hiatus.

@Quapmoc: Why would it get stuck? The only person that can’t repeal it is the Emperor, anyone else can do it through a proposal.

@Darknight: Hiatus only lasts while the DoV is being made, and at that point no one has achieved victory yet. When one actually achieves victory, hiatus ends and this rule kicks in.

srry art, when someone achives victory, a hiatus starts and doesn’t end till they post their accention address.

Oh, just re-read the hiatus rules (i think i found an error on it: one sentence says it ends after DoV concludes, but another one says it doesn’t) Still even if hiatus prevents game actions, a rule effect shouldn’t be considered a game action (game actions are things players are enabled to do through rules, this one happens on it’s own) if not we will have to redefined game actions too.

and by then they can just repeal this base rule before it triggers

lately i think we’ve followed the “ends after address” version

Will you consider voting FOR on this one if I rewrite it to make it work? Or do you think the concept itself is bad? I liked this idea because it lets us experiment a new design space in rule making!

rewrites never hurt so i might vote FOR on a rewrite.

against S/K I’ll go for a rewrite then.
