Add the following text to the end of the Core Rule “Farmers” (or Rule 1.2 if no rule named “Farmers” exists):
A single person cannot control more than one non-Idle Farmer and should not control more than one Farmer at all (regardless of idleness). If a person controlling a non-Idle Farmer somehow takes control of another non-Idle Farmer, both Farmers become Idle.
Doesn’t this rule do the same thing? “A single person should not control more than one Farmer within BlogNomic.”
This expands the fair play rules by making sockpuppeting strictly illegal rather than just a bannable offense. In particular, this proposal would keep someone from making so many sockpuppets that they can vote down a CfJ banning them.
However, our definition of “control” is a little ambiguous - if I tell a player to perform certain actions and he does, am I controlling him?
I don’t think the resulting rule would do what it seems to do. In particular, if I register ten accounts on BlogNomic and vote FOR with all of them, that’s one vote FOR because a Farmer cannot vote more than once and have them all count, no matter what it looks like on the blog.

BlogNomic is an online Nomic: a self-modifying game where changing the rules is part of the game. Players make blog posts proposing additions or alterations to the ruleset, discussing and casting votes in the comments: if enough vote in favour, the rules are changed and play continues.
The game has been running since 2003 and resets every month or so. Have a look around the wiki for more information and history. New players are always welcome and can join in the game at any time.

This contradicts my understanding of how the rules work. A Farmer is an actual person, and what does it mean for a person to control another? You might want something along the lines of “A Farmer may not have more than one BlogNomic account. If a Farmer ever somehow ends up with more than one BlogNomic account, they should contact an Administrator to have one of the accounts deleted.”
