If the Proposal “Private Business Matters” was not enacted, enact it.
In the Sub-Rule “Referrals”, after As a Virtual Prep action, an Open Truck may set their Referral to any legal value.” add this:
If a Truck’s name is the value of another Truck’s Referral, then that Truck is a Business Associate with that other Truck. Whenever a Truck’s Business Associates change, the Yard should privately notify them of that change.
Also in the Sub-Rule “Referrals”, change “If between two Trucks, each of those Trucks has the name of the other Truck as their Referral,” to “If two Trucks have the name of each other as their Referral,”
In the rule “The Night”, change the “Tally Up” bullet point of the Night Action to read:
Tally up: Post a blog entry listing all Menus (as they were at the start of this Night), the outcomes of all sale actions performed during this Night Action, and the Referrals of all Trucks that are Business Partners with another Truck. This post ends the Night action and changes the game into the Prep phase of the next Trading Day.
The first part makes Referrals semi-private: you can see if other Trucks are referring you, but it’s still private to the other players. This is a balance between keeping referrals public (which creates delays as it’s to a team’s advantage to send in their menus and referrals last) and private (which means you don’t know if other trucks are referring you.)
The second and third parts are mainly cleanup. The second clarifies the clunky sentence defining if trucks are business partners. The third reveals all referrals that had an effect in the night story post - these are already obvious, just hard to figure out (you would have to look through the wiki history to see how much dollars changed hands and then compare that to the dollars gained on the night story post) The third incidentally changes “outcomes of the sale actions” (which could be interpreted to mean every sale action ever performed) to “outcomes of all sale actions performed during this night action”.
