Proposal: Admin_edits

Veto of a Self-Kill. - Qwazukee

Adminned at 23 Aug 2009 09:01:04 UTC

If “And again, but with an actual target” has not been enacted, changed the sentence “Whenever an Admin marks a proposal as enacted or failed, he must also mark his name, and report the final tally of votes (or the fact that the proposal was self-killed or vetoed).”

to

“Whenever an Admin edits or changes the category of a post he must mark his name, the time, and the reason for such edit, including the vote tally, veto, or self-kill if applicable in the “Admin” field of the post.”

If “And again, but with an actual target” was enacted, change the sentence “Whenever an Admin marks a proposal as enacted or failed, he must also mark his name, and report the final tally of votes (or the fact that the proposal was self-killed or vetoed).” to “Whenever an Admin edits or changes the category of a post he must mark his name, the time, and the reason for such edit, including the vote tally, veto, or self-kill if applicable in the “Admin” field of the post.”

I think this is more airtight. However, I wasn’t around for the great loophole-finding manoevre of 2008-9, so I may be wrong.  I have a plan for that, too, but I’m out of proposals.

against The “Category” doesn’t change when a Proposal is enacted/failed/vetoed.

Under this, we would never have to report whether it passed or failed, unless we were changing the post from Proposal to CfJ or something.

er.
Bugger, I looked up the technical term and then just copied it wrong.  But the point remains: don’t try to specify everything, it’ll never work.

I actually added the ‘or changes..’ langauge at the last second: I think that just editing is strong enough language to begin with.

Ok, but the failed/passed aspect is still unrelated to the Category aspect. . . .

Yeah, if you strike the ‘or changes the category of’ it still parses and does include enactment or whathaveyou.

If you want to make the argument that the admin doesn’t edit the post in so doing, I’d like to hear it.

I agree that this is flawed as it stands, against

Ok, I see how that happened now. I’ll let you repropose.
