Floor 34 is my destination.

This goes against the intent of “Hold The Doors”, which is to prevent timing issues.

This doesn’t let people move to the basement.

@Cbeam This is a one-off movement, and while you could do timing tricks in the moments before 24 hours elapsed, we could also vote it down in the 24 hours afterward.

ultimately, I think this suffers from some of the same problems the other system had.

picking floors can be a reactionary task. People have been trying to position themselves based on where other people are going.

But that means any sort of “pick your floor” thing is going to run into issues where the best move is to wait and see where others go first.

I mean, I don’t currently see any other way to move without it being everyone makes their own individual action proposals. If nobody else feels like moving, and I lose the vote here, I guess I must sit in my current location.

“Everyone makes their own individual action proposals” was the idea laid out in the ascension address, yes.

If you want to be on Floor 42, propose to change your Floor to 42. If you want other people to vote for that, ask them (on Discord or in a plain old conversational blog post) what it would take to earn their vote - they probably want to move to a Floor as well. I’m not sure why we haven’t seen this happen yet, perhaps there’s not a strong enough reason to move around Floors yet.

Hmm. Ok, well, I’ll start asking around. Anybody else want to move? Or just my goal of 34 for the moment?

Reasons to move around more proposed. Proposing to just gain items directly without searching through caches seems acceptable as well.
