Proposal: Barbarians at the Gates

Add a subrule to the rule The Conclave, called Open Gates:

When evaluating each District’s Score for a Plenary Session, for each District whose Defence is a negative value, the City must set the Defence of that District to zero and calculate their score as if that negative quantity of Defence had been bid, and then (once the Posting a Plenary Session atomic action is complete) must repeal this rule.

A bit of a last-minute bait and switch but I hope (given that it’s a gamble as to whether this impacts a Session in which Defence is meaningful or not) it will be taken as essentially fair rather than actively hostile. And if not then at least it’s something to vote on to keep idle counters at bay.

Same. Josh, you’re already asking for an outright win via your CFJ, you rejected my minimum bid proposal, but now you want to eliminate two rivals quickly?

I think you’re scared that lendunistus might actually be a reasonable challenge.

For the record, no malice here - just wanted to plug the mechanic in as directly as popssible with a minimum of impact. But not worth ruffling features over.
