Proposal: Court Out

popular 8-0 with 3 defs enacted by card

Adminned at 30 Jun 2019 21:20:07 UTC

Remove from the GNDT all Court Allies which have no cost, or a cost of zero.

In “Court Politics”, replace “spending an amount of favor greater than the cost of any court allies in the GNDT with that identity” with:-

spending an amount of favor greater which is both greater than zero and greater than the cost of any court allies in the GNDT with that identity

Then replace the word “cost” with “trust” throughout that rule.

Fixing the bug which allowed Kaia to grab all eight Allies for free, and replacing the forgettable word “cost” with something more thematic.

Unless I’m missing something, all of the court identities don’t have a cost; I’m not sure if having a cost of N/A is the same as 0, would that first clause do anything?

The definition is that “Each Court Ally has an identity (a string) and a cost (a number)”, so they all have a cost, don’t they? But I’ll add “which have no cost” in case I’ve misunderstood something.

Identities don’t have an inherent cost, but neither version of the rule refers to the cost of identities. Both refer to the cost of court allies with that identity. And at this point, such an ally exists in the GNDT with a cost of 0 for all identities.

I suppose this closes the “loophole” if we create new identities or if a wizard allied with with an identity idles.

There weren’t any allies in the GNDT to start with (before Kaia did their manuvuer).

I assume they resolved:

“spending an amount of favor greater than the cost of any court allies in the GNDT with that identity”

...as not needing to pay anything, because there weren’t any allies in the GNDT in the first place.
