I have some rules I want to propose, but I’m unsure of where the best places to track data are, and particularly the limits of the GNDT. Is it suited for tracking a number of values attached to the organism rather than any particular player? or should it be tracked in the wiki instead? For instance, if I wanted to add a “Hunger” stat to the organism, where would that best be tracked?

ok, so the GNDT is always on a per-player basis. That’s good to know. I think for this proposal I’ll be adding the stats to the wiki. I assume that it’d be convenient to keep everything on the same wiki page?
Viv:
I think the wiki page is a good place. I assume it can be renamed to represent the object one level up from the map.

imo GNDT is the best bet for variables that can change quickly, and the wiki is best for variables that change slowly (with “quickly” and “slowly” being a bit subjective lol)
Viv:
I agree.
The Statolith may well be capable of keeping an overall balance of quick-changing global variables.
pokes:
Would it be possible to add a new GNDT (e.g. https://blognomic.com/gndt/generic.cgi?nomic=blogglobal , in contrast to the current GNDT URL of nomic=blog) that tracks the global state variable schema and add it to the sidebar under the by-player variables?

Could be. Might be more fruitful to look into embedding a simplified view of a wiki page in the sidebar (which could replace the GNDT entirely).

You could make it a GNDT variable which only the Statolith possessed, or which was distributed among all players (the “hunger of the organism” being the total of all the players’ hungers).
Or it could go straight into the sidebar, if the rules regulating it took into account the fact that only admin players can update the sidebar.
