Proposal: Dead Man’s last will

Self-killed.  Brendan

Adminned at 26 Oct 2007 15:28:01 UTC

Add a new rule titled The Will:

When a villager holding any items has e’s status changed to dead, e is allowed to make a story post in the form of a will detailing who e wants to give what items to. If some or all of the items are not listed in the will, execpt gaol keys, they are considered buried with the body and are destoryed.

If Town Meeting:Jailor fails add the following:

If any gaol keys are left unclaimed, then they shall be given away at a town meeting by a vote.

This is because there isn’t anyway to get most items off a dead player right now.

I’m pretty sure this fails the Hix information-from-beyond-the-grave test.  I’d rather see a wiki page that people can edit before they die.

how is this info from the grave? all it does is give ya the items they were holding. its not like it says *btw, so and so is a wolf* the dead man tell no tales rule needs to be fixed up so people don’t get forced idle because they can do anything when dead.

If you can give your stuff to somebody after being killed by Werewolves, it implies that you (the deceased) believe that person was not your killer, correct?  If you were lynched and the townsfolk believe you WERE a Werewolf, doesn’t your giving stuff to someone mean they must be in on the conspiracy?  I think this is a bit clearer-cut than Hix’s “if legal then illegal” spaghetti logic.

I agree with you that DMTNT needs to be rewritten.
