Seeing as it’s been 24 hours since my formal duel with the captain, I declare victory.
This is valid only if my duel with the captain never happened because my GPS was 0.
Oh, and I request that all active Swashbucklers have voted on both louse-related CfJs before this DoV is adminned
Note that the DoV immediately ends if it gets the required votes (for or against) and the required 12 or 24 hours have passed. No need to wait for it to be “adminned”.
I would like to understand what actually happened. It is too confused right now. The CfJs about the lice need to be resolved.
But even if it fails after 12 hours, we still stay in hiatus until the CfJs resolve. In the meantime, nobody else expiraments with lice until we’re sure that they are legal.
To my knowledge, it hasn’t even been 24 hours. The still pending CfJ’s didn’t help, either.
Plus, we’d all be giving each other a bazillion lice if it wouldn’t be such a hassle. I assumed this would end with the CfJ’s.
This is referring to my first duel with the captain, ot the one which just happened.

Again, you’re looking at the wrong formal duel. I have had two formal duels with the captain. This DoV refers to the first one only.

If it was worded with “acquired”, though, I’d have to congratulate you on your ability to exploit so quickly into Blognomic.

I beleive I would have won by now if I hadn’t been so *&%$#@ inexperienced!
I did look up “find” in a dictionary and find the definition “succeed in obtaining” right after “discover after a deliberate search.”
So if you squint and look at the rule sideways, my actions were legal. I beleive the negative reaction was due more to the results of the lice than the interpretation of the rules. And the fact that I struggled with a moral choice in the middle didn’t help.
Before you duelled me, I was going to post a statement saying that if anyone gave me any motley that would positively affect my GPS, I would give it immediately to Kevin or JelloGoesWiggle (who are almost never online at the same time) depending on what time it was. Then, the only way anyone could duel me was if you confiscated the lice… which I thought you wouldn’t do since you had already posted a hands-off notice when we arrived at port. Unfortunately, you decided to go hands-on again. Even then, I still had one set of possibly valid interpretations on which to make this DoV.
When I face a moral decision where the rules, what’s good for me and what’s fun for everyone point in different directions, I’m not used to being on the same side as the rules. I think my equivocations in the CfJs possibly cost me the game. If I hadn’t waited for predisastered to make my case for me 12 hours too late, it might not have been nearly so unilateral. I also might have put out my plan to prevent lice abuse earlier.
Enough griping, I’ll make this unanimous.
