Proposal: Digging deepest

In enacting this Proposal, consider it to have the same text as the Proposal titled “Digging deeper”.
Second time’s a charm, as they say.

BlogNomic is an online Nomic: a self-modifying game where changing the rules is part of the game. Players make blog posts proposing additions or alterations to the ruleset, discussing and casting votes in the comments: if enough vote in favour, the rules are changed and play continues.
The game has been running since 2003 and resets every month or so. Have a look around the wiki for more information and history. New players are always welcome and can join in the game at any time.
BlogNomic is powered by pMachine ExpressionEngine.

Loophole here in that an admin could propose a second, later proposal called “Digging deeper” and choose to enact text from that one instead.
(I thought a “proposal names always refer to the most recent oldest proposal with that name” fix was put forward for this a while back, but can’t see anything in the ruleset.)

Presumably this should also update its exemption for ongoing Cases?

You’re right

I haven’t thought of a good way yet to write the exemption so that existing cases get closed under the old rules, even if it gets enacted while open, but future cases get enacted under the new rules. I guess it could add a whole new copy of the old method and say cases up to N get closed via method A and cases from N+1 on get closed via method B, and once all cases up through N are closed, repeal method A. But what a hassle.
