Proposal: Encouraging New Ideas, Again

S-K.—Chronos

Adminned at 12 Jan 2007 08:21:16 UTC

In the Rule entitled “Training”, replace the text:

Any time a proposal passes, its author gains one training point.

with:

Any time a proposal passes, its author gains one TP depending on the nature of how it passed:
*If it passes with zero against votes, e gains 5 TP.
*If it passes with one or two against votes, e gains 4 TP.
*If it passes by only one vote(and so the difference between the number of for votes and the number of against votes is one) e only gains 2 TP.
*Elsewise, e gains 3 TP.

Also, add the following text to the end of Rule 2.1:

New Olympians start with 0 Medals of each type.

against Change “one TP” to “Some TP” and you have a FOR.  In the meantime, you can use Brownie Points to reward good proposals.

Just FYI, I would be very wary of voting for something like this.  It will encourage new ideas, but it will also make it harder to pass them.

This is becausem if a proposal is likely to pass, and i did not propose it, its against my better interests to vote for it, since by doing so, I give my oponents more tp, at no benefit to myself.

Thats a very un-teamlike attitude. The other olympian’s are still part of the Blognomic team. ANything that helps them hurts our rivals, so it a good thing.

Fair point, but im coming in late to the game with a reputation for cheating.  I need to catch up, or i’m just going to be dead weight anyway.

People are not killing this because the dislike the idea, they are killing because it has some errors. =P against
